The restaurant we wanted to visit was closed so we were wandering on the streets when we found Al Rugantino. Obviously we did not have a reservation but the head waiter wrote our number down and called us up when a table got free which was a really cool and respectable thing to do. We appreciated it.

Once seated we had to wait a lot for the dishes to come. That was really unpleasant after 30-40 minutes. The food was OK, not bad but not great either. The pizza dough tasted bitter on 2 out of the 3 pizzas that we ordered (I assume the semolina got toasted a bit more than optimal although it was not burned). Con mia moglie eravamo alla ricerca di un nuovo ristorante e abbiamo deciso di provare questo locale approfittando dello sconto The Fork del 20%. Abbiamo ordinato una pizza e devo dire che era davvero molto buona, tanto che stavamo già pensando di tornare. Anche il personale si è mostrato competente e cordiale.

Il problema è arrivato al momento del conto: era nella media, se non fosse che lo sconto del 20% non era stato applicato correttamente. Me ne sono accorto solo dopo aver pagato ed essere uscito dal locale. Sono quindi rientrato per chiedere spiegazioni, e il proprietario mi ha detto che probabilmente la ragazza alla cassa aveva commesso un errore (lo sconto era di appena 0,80 € su un totale di 38 €). Si è scusato e mi ha rifatto lo scontrino con lo sconto corretto, ma per “giustificare” l’errore ha aggiunto un supplemento di 4 € per i porcini sulla pizza, che prima non risultava.
