Pizzeria all'Isola Felice — Restaurant in Unione di comuni Montana Lunigiana

We stopped in briefly about a year ago, had gelato as it was between the lunch/dinner hour, spoke at length with the 2 owners, and hoped to return for pizza. Now on our 2nd time in the area just over a year later, we were told by a Pontremoli local the "best pizza is in Mulazzo" at this pizzeria. When we saw the photo, my husband and I began laughing hysterically. It was his birthday and we are always on an adventure to find the best pizza. The search is finally over!! Pizzeria All'Isola Felice is hands down the best pizza we've ever had! That includes Los Angeles, San Francisco, and the big 3 in Italy (Rome, Florence, and Venice). To be fair I hear Naples is truly where it's at. But if you are in Northern Tuscany, you must give this pizzeria a shot! We had the house red, 2 antipasti, we each ordered our own pizza and dessert (it was my husband's birthday and you can't have dolce alone 😉), finished off with some limoncello. We all were beyond happy with everything that came to the table, including my MIL. And our server happened to be the same woman with whom we spoke over a year ago. Not only did she remember us, she called over the gentleman we also spoke to (the chef) and they were both very excited we returned to try the pizza. The most amazing Gluten free pizza I have ever tasted. The base was crunchy and had layers like a croissant. Nothing like the dense pizza bases restaurants normally give you. Highly recommend. Ate 3 times here in our vacation, all the 3 times were very good. One of the best pizza's we had in Italy and a really good price. Also the owner and her partner were so nice. Always a smile on their face and patient with the customers. Recommend it to everybody who comes past...
