Agriosteria Ai Brillanti — Restaurant in Venice

Really disappointing! We paid far too much for average food and wine, bad dessert and the worst espresso we ever had. We had ordered our food and asked for "vino della casa" - usually house wine that you can order by glass, quarter liter, half liter and so on. The waiter mumbled something about "wine from the region" and then poured us from an already opened bottle. Neither could we taste, nor did he pour the two glasses equally full. Nor were we asked if we wanted another drink after the glasses were empty. In general, the waiter was hardly ever at our table, spoke only the bare minimum, was as shy as a deer. We felt as if we were invisible. Our food was also only average - the pasta not even al dente, but simply too hard, the gnocchi largely tasted of nothing. One dessert was okay, the other one a huge disappointment - but not as huge of a disappointment like the espresso. Never in our lives have we had such a badly tasting, watery and undefinably espresso. The first time ever I could not even drink it but left it almost untouched. This all was bad enough and sad, but the worst surprise was the bill in the end - turns out the wine must have been incredibly expensive, we paid in shock and only realized later that this had been soooo wrong and not at all on our account. As other reviewers also had written: there is no wine card, no prices visible, the waiter did NOT offer us to go inside, nor did he mention the prices or that we did not get the ordered (and usually quite inexpensive) house wine. One could almost think that there is a system behind it. So my strong advice is: do not go there. There are such nice and charming, delicious and lovely places just around the corners of this...

Abbiamo apprezzato molto la location tranquilla e curata immersa nel verde. Abbiamo gradito come il cameriere ci ha proposto i piatti del menu , raccontandoceli minuziosamente e rispondendo alle nostre domande. Le pietanze poi ordinate e consumate erano di buona qualità.

Come si è notata l’attenzione quasi maniacale nell’illustrare il menu , ci si è accorti anche della totale mancanza di una effettiva carta dei vini e della maniera sbrigativa e superficiale in cui vengono indicati. Abbiamo infatti trovato davvero sgradevole il fatto di dover scegliere una bottiglia consigliata a voce in maniera generica ( ossia senza menzionare né etichetta né prezzo ) poi messo in conto alla “modica” cifra di €45!!! Una qualità di vino che il cliente dovrebbe ordinare in maniera consapevole.

Notiamo dalle recensioni che questo “giochetto” é stato già usato con altri clienti e visto il contesto….non se ne spiega il motivo e lo consideriamo veramente poco serio.

É una nota che stona su tutto lo spartito e rovina l’esperienza in maniera clamorosa. Un vero peccato perché le premesse erano ottime. In questi casi ci si sente fregati e normalmente non si torna più .

All’interno del locale é possibile acquistare prodotti tipici del territorio ad un costo mediamente maggiorato del 40/60%

AGGIORNAMENTO CON RISPOSTA AL PROPRIETARIO: Nessuno ci ha accompagnato da nessuna parte a scegliere nulla, riteniamo inoltre che una bottiglia da € 45 non debba MAI essere venduta “al buio” ( anche laddove vi si dia fiducia ) ed i prezzi debbano essere sempre esposti e comodamente visionabili dal cliente, possibilmente dal tavolo perché non siamo al supermercato . A fronte di una illustrazione quasi “accademica” del menu, non è ammissibile mancare di dettaglio in modo così spudorato su un articolo così particolare e delicato come il vino.

I prodotti maggiorati a cui ci riferiamo NON risultano essere di sua produzione, dal momento che li conosciamo molto bene e li acquistiamo da tempo . I prezzi determinati nel suo locale sono considerevolmente fuori mercato sia rispetto al produttore diretto ( che di norma dovrebbe applicare il prezzo migliore ) che ad altri venditori e-commerce e fisici . Se non ci crede , la invitiamo a verificare...

I felt bad because the guy there was nice, but the food was so gross. We got the ragout and a pasta dish with chicken. Both had this disgusting chicken that tasted and looked like cat food. The pasta was crunchy. The house wine and the burrata were fine though. We didn’t bother making an issue out of it because the whole thing took so long and we wanted to get out of there.
