We came by this restaurant purely by chance whilst enjoying two nights post cruise in Mestre.The reception was warm and friendly. None of our party;eight in number, spoke Italian and none of the staff spoke English. This was not a problem as we are all seasoned travellers, with none of our party having that awfuil arrogance that everyone should speak English. The staff found someone and wrote basic translations for us. The menu including starters was two pages of local dishes ;unlike some of the encyclopedias in other restaurants. The food and service was superb, arguably one of the best we have experienced. We enjoyed it so much that we told the rest of the party. We were two people. We had to ask for the menu because nobody helped us. Then they took a long time to take our order. My husband asked for a plate and I asked for a dessert. The waiter told us that we both should ask plates or he couldn't serve us. The restaurant was almost empty and they prefer not to serve us because we weren't going to ask for everything in the menu!! Unbelievable!! We left. Update.- thanks for your reply, I would never ask for a plate divided in two, my husband wanted a main dish and I wanted a dessert. If your rules are that each person should ask "for full course" it should be informed previously because we have eaten in another restaurants in Italy or trattorias and the service has been excellent without exception....

Would not recommend it for the tourists, in Italy you can find much better service for 3 euro per person that are included into your bill. The only positive impression is that the meals were just good. The waiters are indifferent. We've been waiting for 5 minutes to make an order in absolutely empty restaurant. No recommendations or proactiveness from their side. We had to ask for wines list explicitly despite they positioning themselves as a restaurant with good selection of wines. Who knows, may be they provide better services...
