Ristorante Canaletto — Restaurant in Venice

We chose this restaurant because we were coming to the end of our Italy vacation and were really tired of the restaurants in Venice. They all have the same menu and this restaurant offered Thai food in addition to Italian (weird, I know). But it was actually not bad. It's nothing close to the quality that of Thai you would get in the states, but it was decent and a good change. We ordered the Beef Pho, the Cashew Chicken, That fried rice and a dish beef and red bell peppers. The pho was interesting. I could tell that the broth wasn't a pure bone broth, some kind of bullion was added in, and the beef was stew meat rather than thin slices of raw round steak. It needed lime, but if you're looking for a comforting bowl of soup, this should satisfy. The Cashew Chicken was really good with a slight kick and the other beef dish was "fine"; just a bowl of the same stew meat that was the Pho. The shrimp fried rice was really good. It was all overpriced, but...

Siamo stati in questo locale a pranzo. Diciamo che ci sono diverse cose da migliorare.. Innanzitutto il servizio... aspettare 30,40 minuti tra l' antipasto e il primo mi sembra tanto anzi troppo. Di solito le portate si portano alle persone nello stesso intervallo di tempo... non è accettabile che arrivi il piatto a uno dei due e l'altro debba aspettare altri 10 minuti per poter mangiare. Tempi biblici considerando che la sala era vuota a metà...mi domando quali siano i tempi d'attesa quando sono pieni. I piatt: l'antipasto di salmone insipido ( direi che come qualità si trova di meglio in un supermercato), l'antipasto di polpo e patate ricoperto di aceto infatti il sapore di pesce se ne era andato completamente....I primi : buona la pasta con finferli e i prodotti di mare ma signori...quanto burro.... i gnocchi buoni ma la salsa era così incasinata con mille altri altri ingredienti che sembrava non ci fosse nemmeno la granseola....una cosa importante: la lista degli allergeni??? Direi che non ci siamo proprio. La qualità lascia desiderare per il prezzo richiesto. Non comprendo nemmeno come mai ha un punteggio così alto.

Un consiglio alla Sig.ra Cristiana, non prenda le critiche sul personale. Dovrebbe recepirle in maniera costruttiva: prenda spunto per migliorare anche perché di ristoranti ce ne sono tanti e mi creda che anche il livello è cresciuto molto oggigiorno. Non centrano i gusti ma come sono fatti i piatti. Se la partenza degli ingredienti è di qualità basta niente per esaltare il gusto di un piatto. Non serve coprire o modificare il gusto con mille aggiunte. Peggiorano soltanto e deludono le aspettative. La velocità del servizio va migliorata. A quanto ho visto alcuni saltano il dolce a causa delle lunghe attese tra le portate e il pagamento, a vostro discapito. Con questo concludo e La saluto...

We selected the restaurant due to the reviews and definitely it deserves what it is! We were just there and everything was excellent! The meal was very delicious and filling us definitely so we couldn’t finish. The service was very fast and can’t go without mention how helpful and gentle Stefano was. Very very very kind and friendly person and his service was perfectly. We were a little big group to serve and especially for us, whereas we couldn’t speak Italian.
