Birrificio Sant'Andrea is the sole brewery in the midsize city of Vercelli. The brewery is located in a long, two-story industrial building with limited signage. Look for their red vertical banner near the entrance. Park anywhere along the street and walk inside the gated complex. Outside is a roof-covered lounge area with couch seats, wooden benches built from pallets, a foosball game, and a walkup service bar with several of their beers on tap. Inside the building is their brewpub on the left and a bottle shop on the right. The brewpub has plenty of dining tables, and in the back corner is an angled 8-chair wooden bar and well-stocked shelves of liquor. The award-winning brewery produces a good variety of beers, and chalkboards list their half-dozen beers on tap. The bottle shop sells about a dozen different varieties in large and small individual bottles, as well as packs or cases to go. The brewery itself is located further back in the building, only visible if the staff is kind enough to give a quick tour. They have a relatively large stainless steel brewhouse and several midsize stainless steel fermenters, and all the vessels are affectionately given nicknames. They also have a bottling line and racks of barrel aging beer. The brewery has been open since 2010, and the quality of their recipes is good. I was especially fond of their delicious RiOt Belgian Strong Ale. The staff is welcoming and BSA has an easy going atmosphere,...
