Verona is probably one of my most favourite places. Not been as spoilt yet as some. But very hard to find accommodation in. We found this little Agriturismo on line, and whilst travelling there in the car had to wonder what on earth we had done. Winding up tiny little s-bend roads it is quite a challenge to find. You get there a bit stressed and are met by the wonderful, uber-chilled and charmingly friendly Fulvio. Who insists, before you do anything else, that you have a quiet drink - wine or beer - and enjoy his hill top view of Verona. Verona sprawls below you and it is amazing. He is not interested in getting the paperwork over and done, but in inviting you to his world. Getting you settled and relaxed. ||He just can't help you enough, because as lovely as his accommodation and welcome and the food (ill tell you about the food in a mo) is, he knows you are here to explore Verona. So he gives his time to tell you all the places you can go, where you can park for free, maps, information... he gave us the name of a good restaurant of a friend who is an ex Opera Singer - who serenades you suddenly when you eat!!! lol. I LOVE him for his selflessness. And if I ever go back will stay with him again.||Our last night we ate with Fulvio so we could both enjoy the wine. His food is home grown, local, the taste is incredible - everything fresh and seasonal. He specialises in breeding pigs and we had suckling pig and I am sorry little pig, but it was the best I have ever tasted. The wine is fabulous and cheap as chips - we kept having to ask him if the bill was right?! We are so used to being ripped off as brits by uk prices and the french.||The accommodation is new and very clean and comfortable. ||From the kids perspective the only thing missing was a pool. But they loved all the pet rabbits and the little dog that run around the place;)||Please go, this place is really truly worth going to. But best if...

Read moreSimply put, this is one of the best B&B stays you will ever find.||||It is in one of the most amazing locations, high in the hills overlooking Verona - which makes for a fantastically peaceful stay and great city views in an evening. However, the best part is how caring the staff are, and the sheer quality of the food; Fulvio and his team want to make sure you are happy with everything, and took time to give us a history and picture tour of the local area over a super breakfast of local meats and jams.||||We also had an evening meal here which was sublime, and at a really good price - along with some excellent (and cheap) local wines. Again all served with true care.||||Rooms are very modern yet traditional, impeccably clean and with good balconies and comfy beds.||||I cannot recommend this place highly enough! Thank you to the team, and we hope to be back one day...||||One note of caution though - the sat nav has a habit of taking you the "interesting" way - by which I mean up a narrow and near vertical mountain path with bends that can only be taken in a 4x4. If the tarmac runs out (and by run out I mean was never there and you're driving over cobbles and through an olive grove) then TURN AROUND! Head to the south of the hill and it should find...
