Osteria "Montresor" — Restaurant in Verona

Nice restaurant from the outside. Went in there not speaking Italian, waitress wasn’t very nice. Sat us down and a family shortly after but were not served or asked before she took the family’s order. (Italians) We order house wine, it was drinkable but not great at all. We got a complementary buns, hard as a rock. Later we asked for another one it was better but far from fresh.The meat was good and tasty, but she didn’t tell that has no side dish. Anyway, it could be a nice place but do not recommend if you are not Italian or not...

When I in Finland think of a local Italian Restaurant, this is what I have in my mind. We came for lunch and managed to sort everything out between us even if we didn't speak each others's language. The pasta and the sauce were cooked to perfection. Secondi, meatballs, were soft and tasty. I don't know how they did them. I have never had them like this. All this with a lunch menu price too.

We are leaving the region, alas! It would have been good to come to have the Ala...

Partiti con l'idea di mangiare le tagliatelle al musso... abbiamo beccato il menù estivo. Poco male, abbiamo fatto altre scelte. Tagliere di Lessinia: gli affettati erano a dir poco spettacolari, si scioglievano in bocca. La giardiniera di produzione propria associata era da urlo, presa come contorno anche dopo. Il formaggio non mi ha esaltato, ma comunque non era male. Sia il baccalà mantecato con la polenta, sia il baccalà alla vicentina erano davvero buoni, il filetto tenerissimo, e la trippa... era da tempo che non ne mangiavo di così buona. Apprezzatissimi anche i tortellini di Valeggio, saporiti. Abbiamo accompagnato con un rosé fresco frizzantino. Ambientazione a mio avviso un po fredda, seggiole in plastica, ma apparecchiatura in stoffa; esterni dove grazie al cielo non ha fumato nessuno; posto accanto alla ferrovia, ma con ampi parcheggi di fronte al locale. Servizio cortese ma a mio avviso un po troppo confidenziale: siamo over 50 e se diamo del lei, ci fa piacere che altrettanto accada dall'altra parte. Abbiamo preso in tte due antipasti, un primo, tre secondi, due contorni, tre dessert, caffè, due acque e una bottiglia di rosato, a poco meno di 40 euro a testa. Soddisfattissimi, ci torneremo...
