Trattoria Da Tullio — Restaurant in Vicenza

Sometimes you stumble upon a place that makes you feel truly lucky to have found it — this is one of those places!

We were looking for somewhere to eat and discovered this restaurant on Google Maps, thanks to the other reviews here. We didn’t have a reservation but decided to try our luck and go anyway. At first glance, the building looks like an ordinary house, but when you walk around the corner, a charming terrace with a pergola appears. We were greeted with a warm welcome and could choose a table outside.

The service is on another level: friendly, fast, and authentic. One of the lovely ladies speaks English very well, and the other speaks “hands-and-feet” English just as charmingly 😉. Compliments to both for working so quickly and efficiently, making sure every guest has everything they need. They even offer mosquito spray (which was both much needed and highly effective). A special shout-out to the lady who speaks less English — she works incredibly hard and fast. Thank you!

The food is absolutely delicious: handmade pasta, rich flavors, and all at a very reasonable price (€45 for one starter, two main courses, two glasses of wine, a bottle of water, two desserts, and one espresso). The tiramisu was the best we had during our holiday in Italy — simply divine! After paying, we were treated two small shots of liquorice and lemon liqueur.

This is our favorite restaurant in Vicenza. Rosanna is a wonderful, English-speaking hostess married to the Australian chef who has mastered the region's authentic, home-style cuisine. Focus on only the freshest ingredients. Modest prices, and a wonderful vine-covered patio in the summer, make this place worth driving out of town a bit to enjoy. Una piacevole scoperta, peccato... Durante una gita fuori porta, cercando su internet un posto informale dove pranzare, ci imbattiamo nella Trattoria da Tullio. Da fuori sembra quasi una casa privata, ma appena si entra nel giardino per parcheggiare, si apre la vista su una bella pergola, con tanti tavoli ben apparecchiati. Atmosfera semplice ma curata.

Non avevamo prenotato (era domenica a pranzo!), quindi ci propongono un tavolo all'interno. Accettiamo volentieri: ci sono tre ampie finestre aperte che garantiscono un’ottima areazione e si sta benissimo.

Il menù è molto vario, forse anche troppo per i miei gusti, perché spesso troppa scelta non è sinonimo di qualità… Ma mi ricredo subito: i piatti che vedo arrivare agli altri tavoli sono davvero invitanti! I prezzi mi sorprendono, in positivo: davvero onesti.

Io ho preso antipasto e primo, mio marito primo e secondo, con acqua, ½ litro di vino della casa e due caffè: € 46,00 totali! Una cifra ormai rara.

Le tagliatelle erano eccezionali, fatte in casa e con un sugo ricco e saporito. Sono convinta che anche il resto del menù sia all’altezza, da quanto visto passare ai tavoli vicini.

Unica nota dolente: i servizi igienici, seppur puliti, sono tutti con la turca, quindi inaccessibili per chi ha difficoltà motorie o semplicemente non riesce a usarli. Davvero un peccato, perché basterebbe una piccola ristrutturazione per rendere il locale perfetto anche da quel...
