Villa delle Rose — Restaurant in Vicenza

Disappointing equivalent of a fast food restuarant. Despite booking they tried to seat us outside and when we insisted on inside seated us at a table with one chair!!! When asked were basically left to find our own chair. Waitress was constantly distracted by other more demanding tables. Wine did come quickly when ordered but no large bottles of still water available! Pasta to start - pistachio pesto - was firstly not even delivered- waiter came to ask - then cold lacking in flavour and generally disappointing. Mixed grill was average at best with chicken cooked to the point of cotton wool dry! Veal chop we were not asked how cooked and again was overcooked and dry. Mixed veg was thick and decidedly average with aubergine in particular boring and poorly done - pepper and Courgette were a little better. Beautiful restaurant but everything else was pretty much underwhelming. When our order arrived the waiter gave plates to my parents then literally dropped my plate on my hands while she wasn’t even looking at it (was busy looking at some other table and running away) and meat almost dropped out.

No one came to check in on us while we were eating while they did so for the table next to us.

Vegetables were tasteless (you’d think they’d be awesome as they take pride stating it’s their own produce).

Tiramisu was a let down, had to get dad to eat mine for me.

We weren’t offered any discount at the till but the cashier apologised profoundly, he was nice.

I have been here before and didn’t have issues, it’s a real shame, especially cause we paid something like £100, guess is to pay for branding more than food quality and...

So, the place is very cozy and the food is superb. Gourmet pizza is so good i recommend “Di Stagione” pizza, cause is so good. Service is good but they lack of gadgets and snacks like grissini. Atmosphere is not so good, cause there is a electric tower right by the table and some rude people annoyed me and my table companions. Staff wasn’t helpful. To sum up, toilets were the best i ve ever seen in a Pizzahouse: great sofas and lights. Food is a bit costly but worth it.
