Great place to hike up from Positano! Food was delicious, prices were very reasonable, and environment was elegant.

We had the gnocchi, ravioli a la caprese, and carne a la griglia. All delicious choices well worth ordering. As others have noted, we felt that the overall experience eating here was far better than what is typical in Positano—meaning it’s well worth the trek up for lunch.

Some notes: -restaurant is more elegant than the price category suggests. It’s a rather nice sit down restaurant as opposed to a cafe or trattoria (and no al fresco seating). Lots of smartly dressed people here, so if you are hiking up, you will be served well, but make sure you are presentable. -the hike up from Positano is fairly strenuous, so prepare adequately. Nearly the entire way up is paved by cobbles but nonetheless the restaurant sits at more than 2000 feet or elevation. It took us over 2.5 hours to hike up from midway up Positano. Bring water, wear good shoes/boots for hiking, and check the weather...

Wonderful authentic experience and a beautiful view of the mountains behind the restaurant. Family run and no English, so brush up on your Italian before you go - but even if you can’t, they’re very gracious and patient in communication. Appetizer (Zi Peppe) & Pasta dishes we ordered (Spaghetti & Scialatielli) were perfect and at very low prices for this part of Italy. We had 2 entrees, an appetizer, a bottle of their lovely house-made wine (€4!) and water for €39. We did the hike up from Positano, arrived a quarter past 5 and were the only ones at the restaurant, if you plan to go for an early dinner, I’d recommend trying to get there at or before 5pm to be mindful of their closing time of 6pm, as their primary business is lunch. Would definitely return next time...

After being awake for over 40 hours making our way to our accomodation in Italy we found Zi Peppe's nearby. It was already past 10pm and the restaurant was closed. The lovely family who run this place opened up their kitchen and started the place back up just for us. Couldn't ask for better service or friendlier people.

This place is the epitome representation of an authentic, traditional Italian family run restaurant with amazing food and even better service.

Not to mention the views from the dining area are fantastic.

The only downside is that the restaurants location is somewhat out of the way but is 100% well...

We happened upon Zi Peppe after hiking up CAI trail 33A from Positano, and stopped in for lunch before hiking down to Sorrento in the afternoon. The proprietors were so friendly to us. They seemed happy we were there even though we were the only ones in the restaurant, sat us by a heater (it was chilly on December 30), and even gave us a complimentary hot welcome appetizer. A wonderful experience, wonderful view. Recommend the hike, especially with this place waiting at the top. They also have a small store attached, where we bought some snacks.
