RISTORANTE SAN LORENZO — Restaurant in Vieste

Wow, cannot understand this place has a 4.4 rating. Probably because of its location, because the service was absolutely poor. We came in at 12:10 with two little kids (2 yrs) and were helped with a sigh. When we waved 10 minutes later, they did not make an effort to come to our table but just gave a ‘kitchen opens in 10 minutes’ sign. One of us walked over to ask if we could at least order a drink.

12:30 sharp they started helping people. All tables got a basket of bread, except us. We have not been unfriendly or impolite at any moment.

Bottle of wine was opened, dropped in the cooling basket with a ‘prego’. Ok, we’ll poor it ourselves.

We ordered and got our food quite fast, mediocre at most. The pasta was okay, but sword fish small, dry, with 1 leaf of lettuce.

On the bill we received after was 4x 2 euro service fee. Would have rather asked that back.

One time, never again. Female waitresses were nice but fire those boys at once or give them some proper...

We came here on the recommendation of the hotel staff. Unfortunately we were sorely misguided.

We arrived at approximately 20.15 and asked for a table. After 3 different staff members greeted us each asking if we had been served we were told they were full. One waitstaff then told us we could have a table for 1.15hr. This suited us as with children we were normally fast diners. We sat and waited another 5 min before receiving the menus (meanwhile another table arrived, were seated and received menus). When the manager/owner finally came to take our order we were told pasta would take too long to prepare!

Talk about disorganised! It seems to me that in Italy it is a fair assumption that one might order pasta. Surely this would have been an essential thing to mention upon seating us. Poor...

È la seconda volta che negli anni mi reco in questo ristorante. Ovviamente per ritornarci ne avevo un ricordo positivo. Infatti, abbiamo mangiato egregiamente. Le portate erano saporite, ottime le cozze fritte, buona l'insalata di polpo e i primi con le vongole, la seppia, allo scoglio e le classiche orecchiette pomodoro e cacioricotta. Abbiamo anche preso una spigola ai ferri anche questa buona. Unico appunto sulle fritture un pò troppo unte, eppure eravamo a fine servizio. Il perché delle tre stelle? Il servizio! Ci siamo sentiti abbandonati. Capisco la sala piena, ma dopo un ora dall'ordine è arrivato solo pane e acqua. Dopo aver chiamato l'unico cameriere che tra i tanti si dava da fare e chiesto il perchè di 1 ora e 15 di ritardo sono arrivati gli antipasti. Dopo un'ora i primi e per fortuna subito a seguire le fritture. Ma a quel punto eravamo solo noi in sala. Il servizio ha peccato anche nelle cose basilari. Lo sparecchiare tra una portata e l'altra, e ne hanno avuto di tempo, oppure nel portate una bottiglia d'acqua che abbiamo solo trovato nel conto in più. Morale della favola arrivati alle 21 andati via alle 23.45. Penso che se hai difficoltà in cucina dovresti intrattenere i clienti con la presenza del personale. A volte anche una bruschetta divisa in quattro può aiutare a coccolare il cliente. Noi in più di un ora abbiamo solo finito il cestino di pane. Inoltre questi giovani ragazzi in sala andrebbero guidati e formati. Invece sembravano un pò spaesati senza un ruolo preciso. Spero che quando ritornerò troverò oltre alla qualità un servizio migliore. Dimenticavo la location. Ristorante in un'insenatura appena fuori Vieste con terrazza panoramica sul lido e vista mare e possibilità di tavoli...
