Sea Island Beach Club — Restaurant in Jamaica

Came here about 10 days ago for something to eat around 6.30pm. Ordered the wings with bbq sauce and they were ok but the cold bbq sauce they were mixed in, made the wings cold and the bread around the wings was soggy. Then the gf ordered the burger with bacon and cheese and I ordered the 'chips n tings' with chicken.....well both were poor. The burger came without cheese and was dry throughout with no burger sauce and the bread was stuck to the burger.....just a mess, fries were ok. My chips n tings contained what looked like home made tortilla chips, a couple of handfuls on a plate with a small salsa dip in the middle. After it came to me, i was told that they had no chicken but the meal (if you can call it that) was still brought out to me. Tortilla chips with a luke warm salsa (not the slightest bit spicey) dip = 14 dollars as far as i remember. I complained about the burger and made the owner/superviser aware that we were not prepared to pay for the burger meal. The burger was half eaten, I mean, you know how it goes, you take a bite, give it the benefit of the doubt, and have another bite. I also had a piece just to check. So the owner/superviser came out and offered to take 40% off the cost of the burger meal. Said that we had found the half burger acceptable because it was half eaten. Not a sorry was said and the cost was begrudgingly taken off the bill, ....hey superviser/owner....stop running to the defence of your incapable chef and think about the customers, maybe it'll help you in the long run. When my GF ordered the margherita cocktail, the waitress asked if that was with or without alcohol? it was still very very weak. Anyway, 2 red stripe and a cocktail with the food was still 63 U.S. dollars. I think if we had just gone for a few drinks it would have been good because the view is great and the ambience of the place was nice. I would not recommend the food here to anyone. Cheated me out of money. Horrible mixed drinks. Bad customer service. Slow Service. We ordered two drinks from the menu. A mojito and a mai tai; both were horrible and it to nearly 30 minutes to get them. Waitress never checked on us and I had to call her name several times to get a check, after waiting another 20 minutes. Then we are told the credit card machine is broke but we can use their atm machine which had ridiculous fees. So I ask if they can give change in US dollars if I pay in US currency. She says no, and grabs my American money,but when I say I have Jamaican money she says she has the change for American money. When gives me the change it’s not right as she smerks in my face. When I tell her she miss counted my change, she refused to give me rest of the American money owed. That’s why I like credit cards, because they can’t play these games. Good beach location but many problems with its kitchen/bar. Waitstaff were fine but my first two choices (common items on a small menu. Jerk chicken , purportedly their specialty, was not available in early lunchtime ) for both food and drink were unavailable (the 2nd food choice was first said to be available and then 20-25 mins later was said to be unavailable). The menu prices (both in print and online ) were out of date (waitress mentioned that some items prices were out of date but no info beyond that )- I didn't expect to see such huge increases when the bill arrived (+50% for the main, a more than doubling for a side). Manager refunded only part of the excess pricing (on the main, not including tax and service ) after I complained .
