Lemon Grass Asian Cuisine — Restaurant in Abiko

Situated just a few minutes walk from Abiko station, this treasure of a restaurant offers an array of flavors from multiple countries in South East Asia. The place itself has a very cozy vibe with various ornaments and frames decorating the tables and walls, giving anyone who has traveled to or from these countries a very homely and welcoming feel.

Having lived more than the first half of my life in Singapore and travelling to neighboring countries whilst immersing myself in the different foods and cultures, I can give you my word that the flavors created in this restaurant are true to their corresponding countries and maybe even better in some ways. The variety in dishes allows people not too familiar with that "South East Asian taste" the opportunity to dip their toe in a new world or flavor, or maybe even go all in on something with distinct tastes. What surprises me most is the overall affordability of the food. From my experience, beer can be a bit more expensive but that's unavoidable due to it being imported and all.

Last but not least, the service here was very satisfying. The coziness of the place meant that there was a single waitress attending to the tables the day of my visit but, there was absolutely no wait time. The food came out surprisingly fast and having ordered a course, there was no overlap in the speed of the dishes being served and no delay either.

Near the end of our dinner course, the chef himself came out to serve the last dish and explained how it was eaten. I took this time to ask bit about him and found out that he was originally from Malaysia, known for it's cuisine as well as various influences from surrounding countries. This explained a lot about how the dishes' flavors were so true to their country of origin. This place is a new favorite of mine and I will be back whenever I feel like I need some Singapore food. This restaurant is a cozy, delicious, and kind place! We had the gyoza, scallion pancake, spring rolls, and a delicious peppery noodle dish. They were all incredible and totally delicious- they came out very quickly as well! After an amazing meal, we left for Abiko Station and the lovely waitress ran almost two blocks after us to return my forgotten headphones. It was so kind!!! An amazing restaurant- we will definitely be back!
