Jujiya Hirugami — Restaurant in Achi

The finest iced chocolate I've ever had -- I mean that 100%. Thick, with a wonderful chocolate flavor, not too sweet yet not bitter. A bit pricey, but worth every bit. The view from the corner window is phenomenal, no matter the season. My wife and I wanted more, but we were stuffed from our previous meal, so we marked it as "must return" next time we visit Iida/Achi.

For foreign guests, I usually recommend coming with a friend or interpreter if your Japanese skill is low, but even if it is, the menu and system is simple enough that even a novice with basic understanding can get by. Highly recommended if...

今春にも伺ったのですが、時短営業だったためか、終了予定時刻より前に閉店していまい、利用できませんでした。 今回4ヶ月ぶりに再訪。 ブレンド・アイスコーヒー・小倉ホットケーキ・ポークカレーを注文しました。 コーヒーはホット・アイスとも、「これは旨い！」と言うものではありませんでしたが、ポークカレーはジンジャーとスパイスがよく効いた、とても美味しいカレーでした。ホットケーキは見た目のインパクトはあるものの、味はその道の人が見たら、簡単に想像できてしまうものでした。 ここまでの印象ではリピートはなさそうです。 店の雰囲気は、「森の中に佇む一軒のコーヒー屋」という言葉が似合いそうな素敵な洋館だったので、ドライブやツーリングライダーが立ち寄る場所としては、その旅に色を添えるものになるとは思います。 少し辛口なレポになりましたが、値段がモロ観光地価格なので、少しぼっているなと言...
