One in a lifetime experience. The food- sashimi, sushi, soup were all amazing and delicious, but what makes this restaurant unforgettable for my family is their service. Despite a language barrier, 幸子 and her husband were very friendly! They were very hospitable, and overwhelmed us with kindness. She stood by our table and we talked a lot through the use of google translate, and she even gave us sweets and tea cups! At the end of our meal, they even insisted to send us back to This experience is indescribable, and we really enjoyed eating there! If you visit Agematsu, I will strongly recommend stopping by their restaurant for dinner, it is a one in a lifetime opportunity. (you will leave with a heavy heart)

Yesterday evening we went for this cute little restaurant in Agematsu. We were the only guests at that time. It's a very local spot. No English menu. The nice couple gave us such a very warm welcome. We talked a lot (we used Google translate) to talk in English and Japanese. The food was soooo good. Best food in Japan we had on our travel! Fresh eel (just caught from the aquarium), nigiri, boiled eggplants, fries, Miso soup... they really spoilt us. They brought us the best food they had in the kitchen. The couple was so heartwarming. We were really overwhelmed by their kindness! It was such a unique and authentic experience to be at their restaurant. We highly recommend to go there, if you are in Agematsu!!!

I really enjoyed my dinner here. The Nigiri’s were delicious! They were prepared in front of me because the kitchen is open. It was very cool to see it. It’s not only about the food - this place has this very warm vibe and owners are so kind, open and generous! I don’t speak Japanese and they don’t speak English well, but we managed to have a conversation with help of Google Translate :) Thank you for free candies for my trip to Kamikōchi! :D

We were looking for something last minute to eat, and can happily really recommend eating here.

Very warm and welcoming atmosphere. The couple that run the restaurant don’t speak any English and there is no English menu but we had lovely conversation with what basic Japanese we knew and google translate was more than sufficient to help with the menu. The hostess was very friendly and even waved us goodbye as we left.

The unagi (eel) is super fresh and caught from the tank inside the lobby. Food was delicious and we were provided snacks whilst we waited for the meal. The garlic chicken was also really tasty and the miso was some of the best I’ve had.

Would definitely...
