I have to say it’s one of my favorite spots and cafe in Atami! What an AMAZING view from the outstandingly beautiful cafe designed by the legendary architect KENGO KUMA !
One main wooden piller that holds the whole roof ! I came so many times to admire just the structure of the architecture !
The cafe is located inside the ROSE GARDEN that is about 35 min drive from the Atami station, so if you come by train either come by taxi or by bus 🚌!
Unfortunately have to pay the entrance of ¥2000 in order to go to the cafe as you HAVE to go though the rose garden…
The rose garden is beautiful obviously during the rose season (May/June )
You can take the bus to go up (free shuttle ) to the cafe or you can walk about 20 min up. But it’s worth walking if you like flowers.
Once at the top the view is BEAUTIFUL 🤩 but you do need to line up for having the cafe experience ! If you go on a week day it’s not that crowded.
There are different drinks and also non caffeine drinks and you can order and take out and drink it while sitting outside or inside from the tables or counter !
I liked the cheese cake and lemongrass tea !
It’s a little overpriced but it’s the experience …
Enjoy the view and...
Read moreFor those who want an unforgettable cafe experience, Coeda House cannot be missed! It is a 4 sided full glass cafe facing the sea with a clean, unique and minimalistic ID that will take your breath away the very minute you arrive the cafe. Apart from sipping the cuppa, there is also a swing just a stone throw away. While you do the gentle sway motion in an open environment with the view of sea, it creates a sense of freedom and tranquility, reminding one of childhood experiences and carefree days. The only 'flaw' of this cafe is its accessibility. This cafe is located in a park whereby you need to buy a day pass of 3000 yen to gain entry. It is also quite a walk from the entrance of the park to the cafe. Hence, you will need to take a shuttle bus provided by the park to reach the cafe. The bus shuttle operates in a 10min intervals and you can board the shuttle back at the same stop. To be fair, the day pass allows a full day access to the garden and park. If you have time, it is...
Read moreGot there by car and it says no parking allowed at the nearest entrance. We were then parked at the parking lot near the Donut Room which costs 1000 yen. Walked up a bit and tried to search for Coeda House, while I was told that entrance fee is 4000yen per person. Totally insane. Imagine a family has to pay 20000yen before eating anything there!
I read the previous reviews and learned that the entrance fee was 1200yen 2 years ago, it rose up to 2000yen, 3000 yen last year, and 4000 yen now. What a shame!
Please carefully consider going to other nearby cafes rather than...
