miele the DINER（ミエレザダイナー） — Restaurant in Awaji

Food was slightly above average, but with an excellent sea view & great service, this makes this place an excellent place to stop for lunch (especially if you have just finished visiting Hello Kitty Smile next door).

We had the Awaji Onion Bloom and it is way better than any Onion Bloom we had elsewhere due to the sweetness of the Awaji Onion.

The mozzarella cheese sticks were decent, nothing to shout about there.

We also ordered the Cheeseburger and the beef patty was excellent, brilliantly cooked and went well with the cheese and sauce.

The meatball pasta was slightly sweet and sauce went reasonably well with the meat balls in the pasta.

The hand made lemonade and lemonade squash were tart and slightly sweet, which was great for us for a change instead of the usual lemonade...

We went here after going to Hello Kitty Smile, and honestly the food in the restaurant is pretty top tier. Service was straightforward and fast. My only qualm would be that the cafe and restaurant are separate so if you want a coffee or something you have to physically go upstairs by yourself and order, and then bring it down.

In any case, we got the burger which was AMAZING - perfectly toasted brioche bun with a juicy patty. We also got the pulled pork rice which came with coleslaw on the side, and of course the famous fried onion bloom as Awaji is known for its sweet onions. These 3 were more than enough for...

Disappointing bbq spare ribs (tough, and dry) and the so called awaji chicken bbq grill(also tough and dry). If that is the representation or the interpretation of awaji chicken bbq its really underwhelming. The saving grace of the meal is the fried potatoes, they were crisp to perfection. And also the virgin pina coladas, they are okay. Overall experience... Meh. Not...
