As this is a tourist spot with tour buses coming all day you will have to get there early if you want to enjoy this pond in peace. Also tour buses will have one person at least taking pictures for everyone from their bus at the beginning of the pond.

Not as big as I thought it would be but still nice to see. The July heat stopped us from walking all the trails. Would love to take the trails next...

One of the challenges with Hokkaido is that everything is far away from each other, but the "Shirogane Blue Pond" is a great place to enjoy some natural-ish beauty. Best if you go on a tour to get the inside story, but I won't spoil it. While you're there, the small gift shop offers some nice souvenirs along with a blue soft cream to enjoy the moment!
