The service has definitely gone downhill over the years. Knowing they’d stop taking lunch orders at 1430 I visited the place at around 1410. Despite quite a few empty tables in sight they insisted on me to wait for a few minutes until they cleared one of the tables which had been occupied till a while ago. The table next to me was in the same state but it wasn’t tidied and cleaned during my 45-minute stay. Staff shortage perhaps or a simple ignorance? I was glad to see there were still all-you-can-eat salad bar and drink buffets but the soup pot was already empty. Supposed-to-be hot coffee and tea were not even lukewarm. Broken machine maybe?
For the main dish I went for the pasta of the month - spear squid and herbs, the dish I look forward to every year. The dish itself didn’t disappoint, but failing to provide a spoon to scoop the delicious salmon roe is beyond me. (They only offered a folk and chopsticks for cutlery)
Given the current economic downturn I could stomach the rise in price from pre-pandemic. But would I return for more? Probably not, unless I crave for the seasonal pasta this...
