A cosy sushi eatery run by an elderly Japanese couple who were happy to serve us even though we did not speak any Japanese. They do not speak any English.

With the help of Google Translate, we had probably the best sushi we've ever had (in terms of value to taste ratio) that easily rivals a regular omakase place in Tokyo and definitely rivals omakase places abroad. The eatery appears to be run out of their home and is not air-conditioned, but this adds to the atmosphere.

The very friendly service and their generosity added to the experience: we got the ¥3,000 yen set each (featuring Otoro, Abalone, Uni, Hotate, and other premium sushi). They even gave us crab legs to feast on as appetisers and some fish soup - we were blown away by each dish.

For four persons, including sake, the bill added up to ¥16,000. We are extremely satisfied and will surely return when we...

One of the best experiences in Japan. The couple who runs this restaurant are so friendly and nice, and made us feel like home on such a freezing night in Hokkaido for sure. They use locally grown rice to make delicious sushi which goes really well with the sake. We loved the omakase experience. The soup is very tasty with such simple ingredients like seafood, mushroom. We have ordered one omakae and two makimono(rolled sushi). And what we got is way more than that. We also had squid, oshijima, grilled mushroom and so on as the service from the owner. And we ended up with 8,000yen and a very full belly. Definitely recommend to anyone who wants to experience some authentic Japanese culture. Will always remember such a...

What an amazing little gem. The couple that runs it are so skilled and so sweet. Owner doesn’t speak English well but is so willing to work with you. I just told him to make what he wanted and he gave me a phenomenal sampling of different sushi. Many I had never tried or heard of before but it was so delicious I want to come back. If you’re in the area or coming from the airport to Sapporo, make a stop, it’s well worth your time. The pictures are only SOME of what I was given, all for only 3000 yen. I added two beers and two more pieces of Otoro (phenomenal) for 1900 yen, for a total of only 4900 yen for what would cost 10000 yen or...

Although I usually trust Google reviews, this particular experience was an exception. The owner was courteous, but the hygiene standards were lacking. We were the only guests, and the chef was smoking while preparing the sushi without washing his hands, which was concerning. The food quality also fell short of my expectations. That said, the one redeeming quality was the staff's friendliness.
