XiangXiang — Restaurant in Fukuoka

Lots going for this place. Clean, spacious. Service was still fast despite the lunch hour rush. Portions were massive and the taste was good, not exceptional, but above what you'd get at your average Chinese diner. Service, spot on. Don't think I've ever seen so many items on a menu. Rice is all-you-can-eat if you order a set course (teishoku). Personally I'd have preferred they use Chinese long-grain rice, but that's about my only quibble. Oh and that it's also a little inaccessible without a car unless want to walk 20 mins from the station at Aeon. Speaking of Aeon, if you want to try some of the dishes here without actually going to the place itself, you can find a selection of lunchboxes from this place at the WakuWaku Market there....

九大学研都市駅から九大方面へ５分程度車で走ると、右手にある中華料理『香香(シャンシャン)』さん。 かわいいパンダのキャラクターが目印です。

安くて旨い町中華のお店ですので、当然ながら人気店となっています。駐車場は、店の前の他、隣の敷地に第２駐車場も準備されています。

店内は、テーブル、小上がりが配置されており、子連れでも安心の清潔感溢れる雰囲気です。

特色は、何と言っても、コストパフォーマンスの高い、豊富なメニュー。

店長オススメの『担々麺(680円)』に始まり、酸辣湯麺、醤油ラーメン、五目湯麺などの豊富な麺メニューや、日替わり定食(780円)、麻婆豆腐定食(880円)、酢豚定食、唐揚げ定食など、本当に様々です。

定食は、ご飯おかわり無料、麺類は、＋200円で炒飯がセットになります。

ということで、担々麺の炒飯セットを注文しました。

担々麺は、通常の辛さと激辛(＋200円)の２種が準備されています。通常の辛さを注文したところ、適度な辛味でしたので、辛いものが全くダメという方以外は、美味しくいただける味わいだと思います。

麺は細麺、花椒の痺れはかなり控えめです。固めに茹でてあり、福岡風の担々麺といった感じです。たっぷりのゴマの風味が優しく、飽きのこない味わいで美味しいです。

セットの炒飯はなかなかボリューミー。半炒飯というよりは、４分の３炒飯くらいのサイズ感です。パラパラで脂っこくなく、さっぱりとした味わいですので、案外ペロリといただけると思います。
