This could all be conjecture on my part, but it seemed to me that the owner may have had some negative experiences with Americans in the past. He made sure to tell us that there is no English menu and recommended the margarita pizza to us as a suggestion for what we might like to eat. (For what it’s worth, we didn’t order a margarita pizza.)

The food we had was phenomenal (all from the daily specials menu: octopus ceviche, stewed chicken and shrimp pizza), and the servers were very kind and knowledgeable.

In reviewing our receipt later, I suspect we may have been over charged. I’m not sure where because the receipt isn’t itemized, but I can’t figure out where the last ¥820 on the bill came from. At some point, it is what it is. The food was still...
