あかぎ食堂 — Restaurant in Goshogawara

This was my best dining experience in Aomori, in a small local restaurant recommended by my AirBnB host. The staff were nice and eventually we conversed and shared a table with two old locals who were interested in foreigners. They treated us to a snack and sake. We all had a long, interesting and enjoyable talk together even though our Japanese was not perfect, but at least one of them could speak a bit of English too. At the end, the staff gave us takeaway yakisoba and we were so grateful for them. They got our names down and she took a photo of us together. I went here on a whim with my husband because he's on the search for delicious katsudon. And this place did not disappoint! It was absolutely delicious. The katsu was incredibly thick and juicy, not dry at all. The portion size is huge, my husband struggled to finish it. I had the Yakisoba myself and it had such a nostalgic flavor, like eating at my Obaachans house. This is a really good restaurant to try out if you're in the area. 『おもうま』のお店。 一番人気は「みそラーメン650円」のようですが、二番人気の「かつ丼750円」にしました。 建物は築40年以上で田舎の実家の居間で食事をする感覚でどこかなつかしい。 午前11:30入店でほぼ満席、注文から1時間待って配膳。 時間に余裕があるときのみ、利用しましょう！ 短気な方や少食な方にはオススメしません。 お新香3種、サラダ、みそ汁、ドリンク(アイスorホットコーヒーor烏龍茶を選択)付きで750円は信じられない値段！ 更に驚きは、かつ丼が大きいこと、極めつけカツも厚さ1cm以上。何故か1〜2cmのバラツキがあるのだが、とにかくお得感ありあり見事な出来栄えです。 食べきるのも大変ですが、とても美味しく、作ってくれたお店の母さん達の苦労と愛情を感じ、待ちくたびれたイライラも吹き飛んでいました。 ペイペイも使うことができ、ここの母さん達、本当にすごいです。 ごちそうさまでした。

追加報告 今回三番人気の「みそチャーシューメン」を頂きました。店内には配膳待のお客様が4人おり、１時間程度の待ち時間を覚悟していましたが、30分で配膳され、それがとても短く感じるなんて赤城時間に慣れてしまったのか・・・。 トレーの上に丼ぶり山盛りのみそチャーシュー。分厚く大きくカットされたチャーシューは硬過ぎず、とろけ過ぎず噛みごたえのいい柔らかさでうまい。山盛りの大半を占めるモヤシ山脈の地下に麺が埋もれており、麺を取り出そうものならスープがトレーに溢れる始末。摺りゴマをたっぷりかけ、熱々のスープ。弘前の「中みそ」に劣らず、いい味とボリュームです。 お新香とドリンクがサービスで付いて900円。コスパ高く、母さん達の仕事にアッパレです。大食いの自分でもやっと食べ尽くしたくらいのボリュームです。注文の際は胃袋と相談して決めてくださいね。本当にお腹いっぱい頂き...
