What an AMAZING restaurant serving the best eel. It is better than I ever imagined. Usually eel has a bit of a dirty aftertaste, but this eel was so clean, fresh, cooked perfectly so it is juicy and moist. The skin is perfectly grilled so it is crispy and adds just a hint of bbq flavour.
The red and white eel are both delicious, yet distinct. The white is more delicate, offering an unadulterated flavour of the true eel, heightened by the grilled crispy skin and light sauce it is served with. An optional dash of lemon elicits the fresh flavour, like an alpine stream in springtime. The red had the traditional sweet sauce on top, but it is not overpowering. Instead it complements and enhances the eels natural sweetness.
You will not regret eating here, you will never find a better meal. My only regret is not coming twice. I will dream of that eel...
