I recently dined at this local Chinese restaurant and had a genuinely satisfying meal that left me impressed. I ordered the fried gyoza, mapo tofu, and a side of rice—simple dishes, but each one stood out in its own way.
The fried gyoza were excellent—perfectly crispy on the outside and generously stuffed with flavorful meat on the inside. You could really taste the quality and freshness in every bite. They were hearty enough to feel like a dish on their own, not just an appetizer.
For the main course, I chose the mapo tofu. I opted for the non-spicy version, though there was an option for a spicier, slightly more expensive version, or to adjust the spice level upon request, which is a thoughtful touch. The non-spicy version was still full of flavor. It's savory, rich, and well-balanced, with silky tofu that melted in the mouth. The portion was surprisingly large—easily enough for two people—so the staff kindly suggested serving me half and packing the rest to go, which I really appreciated as a solo diner.
Overall, the meal was both comforting and delicious, and the service was attentive and considerate. This is the kind of place that makes you feel welcome whether you're dining alone or with company. I’ll definitely be back next time I might try the...
Read moreThe food is amazing, with a Japanese twist on Chinese cooking. The chahan (fried rice) was particularly good. The menu is unexpectedly large, with a wide variety of options. The Sichuan peppers they use are sourced directly from Sichuan. There are clear markers on the menu showing the spice level, and there are also plenty of dishes that aren't spicy for those who don't prefer it. Service is very good, but not to the point I'd say it's exceptional. Atmosphere is relatively normal - it's a small space within the restaurant so it really depends on the customers as to whether it's more lively or quiet. My only complaint would be the prices, which are quite high (similar price range as a diner, average of between 1000 and 1800 per dish with small serving sizes, and you order multiple dishes). I wouldn't make this a regular restaurant to visit because of that, but it's not bad for a rare meal with a friend. I went with a friend this time and the bill came out to around 5700 yen for a couple dishes and a drink each (without drinks it would have been...
Read moreNo sure what people are complaining about, but we were very satisfied with the food, the quality and the portion size. Even though we don't speak Japanese very well, the waitress was very attentive and explained everything as good as she could.
We were actually able to order Dandang Noodles with Soup and the non-spicy version of it with Gyoza. Everything was very tasty, was deleivered quickly and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend it to anyone if you like slightly different...
