スイーム・ジヨリー — Restaurant in Himeji

I was really thrilled to find a cozy cafe like this in my neighbourhood 😄 The service is top-notch and fast and you are always greeted with a smile. Being non-native speakers of Japanese, we were treated nicely by the two pretty ladies. We visited on a weekday afternoon and were famished after a morning of chores. Thankfully, this was the only café we found that still served lunch at 3pm! The food was exquisitely prepared by the chef and all dishes were well seasoned with a generous balance of greens, proteins and their wonderfully sweet rice. Special mention to the Buta Shogayaki. The tender slices of pork were basted with sesame oil and the fragrant zing of ginger. It was savoury and the rice wine flavour was not overly sweet. The Hamburg steak came with a massive portion covered with a freshly-fried egg, the demi-glace was fantastic. I never seem to can get enough of their renkon salad.

Costing just 1000 JPY for the Hamburg Set and 900 JPY for the Buta Shogayaki, the meal was very satisfying and reasonably priced.
