I'm so thrilled to have found authentic Indian curry around the vicinity. Not only is this place accessible via foot from Mizoguchi Station, the curries here are superb!
I have a love-hate relationship with curry in Japan as Japanese curries are much too sweet. Even Indian restaurants sweeten their curries to the excess to comply with local taste buds.
It's still odd to eat Indian curry with Japanese rice instead of the usual basmati grains, but other than that and the overly sweet naan, everything else tastes very authentic.
It's my first time having a Pork Masala curry and I have to say it's seriously out of this world. I opted for the highest spice level and it was just right for my South East Asian taste buds. The pork pieces were well simmered and marinated in masala spices, tender, though some gaminess still remained.
The Saag Chicken is quite healthy tasting with blended spinach, cream, and multiple spices, creating a warming but not overly savoury dish.
The salads came with each set and the dressing is not the usual supermarket stuff. It has a tangy sweetness not only thousand island dressing but comes with a hint of garlic, ginger and onions. Somehow, it reminded us of the orange chutney used for thosai back in Singapore.
