※With 5★ being the highest rating 【Overall】3.3 but there is no option for that so i am going to round up and give them a 4, since overall I had a pleasant experience here. The restaurant was located inside roadway station Tatara Shimanami Park so it’s the stopping/resting point for a lot of people.

【Food】★★★★★ My order: 鯛丼 (宇和島風) Sea Bream Bowl (Uwashima-style) Price: 1650

The seafood in my bowl was real fresh. I chose this dish since not so many other places offer the same eating style (egg in dashi stock as sauce for the bowl). Overall it’s a delicious bowl of rice with fresh fish on top. The portion size was quite small though so if you’re really hungry I recommend other menus with different condiments as side dishes.

【Price】★★★ Price was quite expensive for the amount of food you get. Since it’s a tourist place i guess it cannot be helped. At least you get really good view of the nearby Tataya bridge.

【Operation】★★

Tickets are sold from 2 ticket vending machines, though one was broken so only one was functional to take in orders for quite a lot of people. That explains the usual long line before the restaurant. With your order you will get a number, with which they will call upon finishing your order. However since they only call out in Japanese, I think it’s going to be a problem for visitors who don’t understand Japanese to know that they’re being called. As many other fast food chains did, if there is a monitor of some sort to showcase which number was finished and which was not, it would be of great help to everyone but for the time being, the system is not quite user-friendly to foreign visitors.

Since there was no frying condiments in my order, it took them faster to finish (around 10 mins). They also stated in the menu that frying dishes usually take longer time to make so bear this in mind if you are...

Great food, volume on the small side but excellent quality. Perfect if you want to keep space for evening meal .

Service was terrible. The vending machines introduce unnecessary complexity to a simple process and one was broken.
