Kappo Seto — Restaurant in Imabari

For tourists and foodies looking for an authentic experience This is the perfect spot in Imabari if you want to eat incredible fish dishes at a great price. The food here is some of the best you'll ever have.

This isn't a place for beginners though. The staff doesn't speak English, so it can be a little challenging for those new to Japanese dining. The restaurant is almost exclusively filled with locals, giving it a really authentic feel.

The appetizers and seasonal small plates are absolutely delicious. They have course menus that are super affordable, and the portions are generous. The restaurant also has a fantastic selection of sake that pairs perfectly with the local Setouchi seafood, plus a few wines.

If you're a traveler up for a challenge and want to try some amazing, genuine Japanese food, this place is highly recommended! It's best to ask your hotel to make a reservation for you...

We just dropped by around 6:30pm and luckily there was still table free. The staffs were super nice and patient even we don't speak Japanese. One of the ladies spoke perfect English and always offered to help.

On top of these, the food was very good and delicious. The tempura, fish dishes and the rice at the end were all amazing.

Highly recommended. There are few traditional Japanese seating tables but better call to reserve. We didn't it this time but...

Did not find the food to be that special as it lacked flavour. Lunch set was comprised of several small cold dishes. Tempura was a tad too oily.

Maybe we picked the "wrong" dishes and should have ordered something else than the sets.

Service was great though and the bill was not too much. Everything is in Japanese and no English is spoken. Bring Google...
