This summer, during our trip to Inuyama Castle in Nagoya, we found this little restaurant on Google while looking for dinner. The reviews were pretty good, so we decided to give it a try. Once we stepped inside, it was clear that this wasn’t a place catered to tourists. The owners, a lovely husband-and-wife duo, didn’t speak English, but they made an effort to communicate with us using a translator app, which made everything so much easier to understand.
My husband and I absolutely loved the meal—it was not only delicious but also a truly memorable experience. Despite the language barrier, the translation app helped bridge the gap. The food quality was excellent, and we even ended up buying some honey produced by the wife’s brother’s farm.

Read moreWe visited a few weeks ago during the Inuyama Matsuri weekend, and I just remembered that I hadn't written a review! This sushi restaurant is run by an extremely friendly couple who welcomed us in as soon as we entered the door, and we had one of our best meals in Japan here. The owner barely spoke English and we barely spoke Japanese, but with the power of Google Translate we managed to have a lovely conversation.
The toro, uni, ika, ikura and more that he served us was all delicious and fresh, and for a very reasonable price too! The chawanmushi was amazing, it just melts in your mouth. Thank you...
Read morewe read positive comments and came to "prove" it. Mentioned by previous visitors, a lovely couple has run the restaurant for 43 years. Sashimi and sushi were both great in quality and freshness. The sashimi rice bowl (kaisen don) was surprisingly impressive on the varity and quantity of seafood. Appreciate very much they tried best to communicate with us by google translate as we speak zero Japanese. They shared with us about their family and daily life. Let us understand more the culture except food. All are great in taste and experience. Highly...
