Seems like I’m only writing about places I find outstanding. BTW, thanks to Tabieats on YouTube for posting about this place before. Sadly the construction is booming across the street where there used to be no building. But that doesn’t take away from the ambiance this place holds with tons of charm and nice people to meet and chat with. Typically finding western tourists here looking for something outside of their hotel stay. Ran into some Brits, joked about the Americans and the fish n chips. C’mon ! You just had to be there. Met with another family and chatted with the mother of their wee clan and recall how they noticed there was so much fried food here. Really? I guess it depends on where you’re food experiences take you to. Most non Japanese seem to think Japanese food is only sushi and ramen. Anyways I’m off topic here. I was asked what was my best food experience here in this city and I have to say it was their Taco’s. I was so chuffed to find it in their menu and moreso when I took that first bite into their crispy and crunchy not greasy fried taco shell! Wonderful fusion of flavours. Had the tuna on rice with sea grapes (my fave next to Goya melon here) We did try the 100 yen fried fish. I liked it because it wasn’t what you’d think. My partner didn’t like it as much, but for me it goes great with beer and their tasty. Heck it’s only 100 yen. Definitely worth a drive and try. Staff are friendly (speak English ) and the place has a nice balmy vibe. My wee bit of happiness and sunshine in my tummy after I eat here. Psssst. Don’t let everyone know how neat this is. If there are lineups it just ruins the vibe for this...
Read moreThe Tacos were not good. First of all it was smothered in ketchup. I have had many Tacos in my life and never had ketchup on it. It was not a pleasant taste. I was expecting salsa, avocados, and some kind of grilled meat. the ketchup drowned out everything. There was so little ground beef that I couldn't taste it. Basically it's like fried tortilla with ketchup. It was small and expensive 1300 yen which in Japan you can usually get a large meal for at a restaurant. I don't know why people give this place good reviews. I think that Maybe they have never had a real taco. If you have had an authentic Taco before you will definately be disappointed. I have found many times over the years of traveling and living in Japan to stick to...
Read moreWe stopped by for dinner as it was a short walk from our hotel. Really nice, casual dining. We were really surprised by just how good the food is! The tuna rice bowl was incredible and the garlic shrimp was really good (especially so if you really like garlic!)
A really helpful member of staff came to our aid as our Japanese isn't very good. She was brilliant; friendly and chatty and gave us some nice good luck charms as a gift when we left.
We'd planned to go for dinner again today, but sadly they're closed on Thursdays. We'll try and go for lunch tomorrow instead before we...
