A lady from the main island immigrated to South America many years ago and lived in Brazil and Peru for many years. She learned how to cook several local dishes there and then and she's now in Ishigaki, cooking those dishes. Her restaurant is open only three days a week (Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays) for lunch. There are Okinawan and South American dishes on her menu. When I go, I choose one or two of the South American dishes. The taste is GREAT and definitely not a cheap Japanese version of those dishes; if you're looking for something tasty and are tired of Japanese food. I strongly recommend the Brazilian pastel and maybe the costilla. Seating inside for maybe 12 and another 12 outside at the picnic tables.
