Morimoto — Restaurant in Kaga

We ate here two nights in a row. The first night we had a reservation, the second night we just walked in (note, they can get very busy, so making a reservation is a good idea). The people who run the place are very kind and attentive, and we felt at ease right away. On both nights, we started with a delicious and fresh sashimi platter. We highly recommend their grilled fish, which we had on both nights and both grilled to perfection. Although they have nodoguro (special fish from the region), which we can highly recommend as well, we liked the grilled barracuda (kamasu) of the second night even more. Everything we ordered was meticulously prepared on the spot. You can enjoy a variety of sake here; the hostess’ recommendation, kokuryu (黑龍), is a solid choice.
