cafe & music nene — Restaurant in Katori

(TL;DR - If you go here and order beer, check the expiry date!!)

I actually went to this cafe twice, first with my wife and we just had the food for lunch. It was pretty good, above average; the curry was nice and they have some good homemade sausages. The owner was also friendly and we mostly enjoyed it.

However second time we went wasn't good.. We went in the evening with my family and this time we tried some drinks from their very large beer menu. I was excited as they had many foreign (particularly UK) beers. I ordered a Guinness but it had almost no froth at all. I then checked the date.. it was 1.5 years out of date!! I spoke to the owner and he said this was fine and apparently normal, it would "mature over time". He didn't offer me any replacement but just walked off.

I'm British and I can 100% confirm we do not drink out of date beer lol.. But what then made it worse.. I asked for a different beer and the waitress was only able to find 3 beers out of their big list that were actually in-date!! I think it's kinda gross and scummy to offer customers so many beers when most are out of date..! Beer does not 'mature' when out of date, it loses flavour and becomes 'vinegary', fizzy beers become flat etc. Please sort this!!

The cafe also offers live music, but when we went it wasn't really live music at all. Just one DJ casually flipping the mixer every so often. Considering there's many guitars and other instruments inside the shop, it was a little deceptive again.. but maybe that was my mistake.

土曜日の11時過ぎに一人で初めて訪問。佐原の町並みと香取神宮の観光の前でした。佐原まで車で5分の近さです。 メニューが多くて迷います。土日だけランチやってます。選んだのは牛ハラミのカットステーキをランチセットで。メインの前にサラダとコンソメスープが出てきましたが、コンソメは顆粒など一切使わない完全手作りだそう。確かに別格の美味しさ！妥協なしです。メインのお肉は、赤身で柔らかく、味付けもすごく好みでした。ライス付き。食後にコーヒーも付いて、1300円って安すぎません？コスパ高し。 オーナーさんが気さくな方でして、少し話をしたら、この店はまだオープン１年半で、その前は東京で音楽の仕事とフレンチ店での仕事をされていたそう。 なので、ここの料理も、フレンチがベースになっているとのこと。どうりで本格的‼️ 本当に美味しかったです。他のメニューも食べてみたいものだらけですし、パフェも気になります。大きさが選べるって珍しいですし、4段階で一番大きいクレイジーってどんな⁉️ 穴場を見つけた感じでした。超オススメです。 駐車場はゆったり...
