I got a really delicious tempora-don here - different veggies + 2 prawns. It was really good value, all of this for ¥900!!! It is run by a very old but sweet Japanese family and there is even a manga bookcase for you to flick through while you wait for your food. It’s actually a bit of a legendary local restaurant as many tv shows have filmed here before too! This food here will definitely fill you up well for the long walk ahead to the shrine!!

We came for a late lunch — family of four with two young kids. Food was comforting and good, portion was value for money. This was the Fukui set and the soba was fresh and chewy, a thumbs up from someone who’s not particularly keen on soba. Very clean place. Served by an elderly couple; the man was polite. 勝山駅のすぐ前にあるお食事処。 昼は食堂、夜はお刺身や小料理も出して呑めるお店みたいです。 駅前唯一の食堂ですが行った時は平日という事もあってお客はいませんでした。 店内の雰囲気は、どこにでもある食堂と同じですが、かえって落ち着きます。 おろしそばとソースカツ丼のセットを頼みました。 おろしそばはいろんなところで頻繁に食べていますが、ここのお蕎麦は今まで食べてきた中でも上位に入る美味しさでした。コシもあり出汁もくどすぎず、大根おろしも辛すぎずペロリと食べちゃいました。 ソースカツもソースが絶妙、カツも柔らかく美味しいかったです。これで¥850はリーズナブル！！ 最初は、勝山恐竜博物館で食べようとしましたが、我慢してこちらで食べて正解でした。 駐車場があるかないかは不明ですが、電車で勝山にこられたらここで昼食をとられる事オススメします。←あ...
