One of the best Italian food I've had. We made a reservation, cause I heard it can get busy and the cook was doing everything by himself, so make sure to make a reservation before going. The restaurant is very cozy, simple and it has a lot of pictures and Italian decorations. Parking was a minute walk, and the chef showed us the way.
We ordered the Quattro Formaggi pizza, and I cannot describe how good it was. The dough was so soft and fluffy and came out pretty fast. It was just a piece of heaven ๐ I also saw another costumer getting to go pizza, and she ordered the pizza with ham or salami, not so sure, but the meat was fresh fresh. The pasta of the day was the house speciality, gnocchi and tortellini. The gnocchi and tortellini had a few sauce options and the chef explained all to us in English. We thought the amount of gnocchi wouldn't be enough, but we struggled to finish ๐
We drove almost 1 hour on a Monday with rush hour traffic, but it...
ย ย ย Read moreI live 50 km from Il Mattarello, but anytime I get a lift by car from a friend I run there faster than light. The best handmade ravioli, tortelli, tortelloni of Okinawa! Of course to be enjoyed on the cozy spot (Il Mattarello is NOT Hotto Morto): pure Emilia-Romagna. The Japanese, very talented chef follows the real, old Italian cooking tradition, after working for years at Mamma Lella and studying the best Italian cuisine in Italy in my hometown Bologna, and not only. Great pizza (finally no pineapple!), great 'secondi' and great dolci. Everything great! Better than some 'real' Italian chefs. I begged many times the owner to move to Naha where I live, but... Il Mattarello is a little treasure in Kin, if you're in the area don't miss it. Dinner only, necessary to book, take out: only pizza. Buon appetito! P.S.: The car constantly stationed in front of the place is NOT of the chef, but belongs to the rude owner...
ย ย ย Read moreI have eaten here many times and every time has not disappointed. Every dish that me or my friends have tried has been truly delicious, the fact that one man is able to operate the cooking and the serving is remarkable. The owner is one of the kindest and most generous people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, and it is evident that he does what he does out of passion and a love for cooking. He has given me and my friends complimentary desserts/food just because we had a little longer of a wait, and has even given us a ride because it was pouring rain. The only complaint I could levy is that the Zuppa Inglese is not a permanent dessert item, because it is one of the best things I have ever eaten. This restaurant is definitely my favorite on Okinawa and surpasses all of the other popular restaurants...
