Tama Cafe — Restaurant in Kinokawa

IMPORTANT: Before you go here, make sure you have enough cash for food and souvenirs. They don't accept credit cards (which year is it?) and there's no ATM around.

Given that you need to take a 30 minutes train ride (so cute!) literally just to see a cat station master (cute!) and visit this cafe, it was an unpleasant surprise that we couldn't buy what we wanted.

Additionally, you must order food to be seated. I put my food order first because my wife was still shopping for souvenirs, and when it turned out that she can't order her own food (we ran out of cash), she wasn't even allowed to join me!

a cafe right at tama station / kishi station, perfect for relaxing while waiting for the next train. the atmosphere is a bit moody and dim, but the interior has thoughtful details and displays interesting artifacts and information. they also offer a goshuin paper you can add to your collection, which was a nice touch.

i had the ice cream and was a little let down. it looked promising but tasted pretty average. the menu felt a bit underwhelming overall and seemed more instant than freshly made, especially...

They DON’T accept credit cards and claimed there’re no ATMs around (there’s one 6min walk from the station tho). You have to buy a drink to be able to sit inside the cafe. My husband got a drink. However, I couldn’t sit with him to share it and have to order my own item. Also if you didn’t get a pin from the gache machine onboard with ¥200, you can’t exchange to a different design in the cafe with the same price. Not a friendly/enjoyable place to go.
