Kawai — Restaurant in Kiso

We ordered the tempura soba and duck soba, I’d recommend the tempura soba out of those two. We also ordered the rice mochi with miso sauce, which is advertised as a local specialty. It was less fully pounded and sticky than other mochi I’ve had, and the sauce was sweet and delicious. The ticket machine at the front makes it accessible to order from the whole menu if you don’t speak Japanese, and the prices are very reasonable. You can also get a beer if you like. The staff were friendly and the food was quick :)

Delicious and convenient dining place right by the Kiso-Fukushima Station!

Orders are through a ticketing machine and require cash. The prices are very reasonable. The food came quickly and was excellent! Highly recommend the Hot Tempura Soba. The staff were very nice and can provide change if you need smaller bills. Definitely a great place to grab a quick bite before or after exploring the town!
