I ordered two pizzas in advance. I was there 9 minutes before the appointment and decided, as I saw they are having a nice coffe-machine, to order an espresso. The stuff kindly told me, that the coffee is very strong and I might will have troubles to sleep after drinking it. Nevertheless I ordered an espresso. It came in a very cute glass. I drank it. And it was amazing. I tell you, I have a coffe-machine by myself, a fancy LaPavoni and I was several times in Italy as I live in Switzerland. In my CV I always write I am a coffee aficionado. The espresso was absolutely fantastic and had an incredible crema!! 10 out of 10 points, at least. I would give more points but it is not possible in a 10 out of 10 range. Anyway, I took the pizzas home to my japanese grandmother whom never ate a pizza before and she is 84 years old, can you believe that? My grandma lives in Mitsu which is a village 10 minutes away from uRashiMa. Actually the pizzas would have been still hot when arriving at the house but my grandma had to give water to the plants and my sister did something in the house so I had to wait for at least 15 more minutes until everybody was at the table to finally eat. At that point the pizzas were already a bit cold but I didn`t care and took a huge bite. The taste was really nice I have to say. Although I have never been to Napoli only to Toscana for like 100 times, I liked the Napoli style pizza. I think the pizzaedge is a bit bigger and rounder in the Napoli style. The dough at the edge also tasted a bit like bread which was interesting. Of course the toppings of the Frutti di Mare are excellent in this region. I used to snorkel for awabis and sasaes back in the days when it was still legal for privat persons to do so - that kind of awakened some emotions. Well, my grandmother had some troubles to eat the pizza slice as she tried to take it apart with her chopsticks. We tried to tell her, that she can eat the pizza slice with her hand. So, instead of taking a bite from the front of the triangle, she bit in the pizzaedge first. I have to say, I have never seen something like that before. It was very...
Read moreWow! This is an outstanding culinary experience for anyone who likes pizza and Italian coffee. Honestly, Gordon Ramsey would be proud!! I was blown away by how fantastic ever single bite of the appetizer tray was (each person gets their own), the pizza was baked to perfection with the right balance of flavor, and the Napoli coffee for dessert was deep, rich, earthy goodness! As I recall we got pizza number 14 and 16. There are about 25 different varieties to choose from, and the menu is in Japanese and Italian only, so you may have to do a little Google translate, but otherwise I think the chef can speak English too. Do yourself a favor and eat dinner here if youâre nearby. It also helps to make a reservation because there is limited seating in the...
Read moreExcellent, authentic Italian pizza. The chef trained in Italy and had his pizza oven imported from Italy. This pizza is the real deal, some of the pizzas can get a little pricey but there is nothing of this caliber anywhere in the region. Some pizzas also use local ingredients. The restaurant also serves amazing seafood and sides, naturally so because this region of Japan is famous for excellent seafood.
UPDATE: Due to COVID uRashiMa has limited their counter space to 4 seats, which means that just one group per time slot can eat at the restaurant. They still do take out, but it is definitely recommended to make a reservation before going, especially...
