Fantastic service and food. A friend of mine made a reservation for me and informed the chef of my need for a halal menu. Halal menu means no mirin, sake, alcohol or meat except fish. The chef met the conditions and went above and beyond. Thank you very much, I had a lovely memory of a traditional Japanese lunch. If you visit here, feel free to reserve and let the chef know of your dietary conditions. Highly recommend to foreigners visiting kumamoto city!

23.5.31 お客様とのランチで利用。 色々な料理が有る中で、店名を冠するメニューの｢やまもとや天丼｣を頂きました。 穴子やブリ(？)、茄子や海老など、豊富な具材が楽しめます。(メニュー紹介には、鰤ではなく鱚と書いてあるが…。いや、今思うと 鱚も入っていた気がする…。) 衣は程よく薄くて軽く、タレも万人に好かれそうな濃さ。 茄子の天ぷらは絶妙な揚げ加減で、柔らかな食感と上品なお味。 ブリは｢もしや、これは天然物？｣と思う程、あの養殖特有のブリ臭さが無い！もしかしたら鰤ではなく勘八かも？(あの具材の一品は、身の感じからして鱚ではなく鰤か勘八だと思う…。平政も臭みは無いが、流通量からして考えにくい。) その他の具材もふっくらした食感で、味も私好み！ お味噌汁にはアオサ海苔でしょうか？トロリとした食感で、とても風味の良い物が入っていました。 欠点(と言うか、気になる点)が全く見当たらない。一品毎に とても丁寧な調理をされているのだと分かるお料理でした。 ｢1500円の天丼｣と言えば一般的には高価な部類になるのでしょうが、 今回の｢やまもとや天丼｣に関して言えば、この味と内容であれば｢安い！｣と感じました。 店内も非常に綺麗で、上品に設えてあります。 空間価値が高く、1,000円の天丼について言えば｢えっ？このお店で、こんな安いメニューが有るの？！｣と、少々驚きました。 ここは非常に高いレベルの領域で｢安くて旨い！｣を実現しています。
