HOP FROG CAFE — Restaurant in Matsumoto

Delightfully quirky, family-friendly cafe featuring great coffee and specialty beers. Japan is just getting into the independent brewery trend, and this sweet little spot in the middle of lovely Matsumoto is on top of it, with excellent offerings of beer plus other beverages and delicious food. They speak excellent English, and are conveniently located. What a lovely hidden gem! Purely by luck we stambled upon this little coffee/beer bar in Matsumoto. We had some time to go visit and were welcomed by a very lovely couple inspired by craft brewery's.

We were presented by several different kind of draft beers and surprised by the quality! How awesome that there were 10 different taps and if we had any questions about the beer the owner is very happy to help - in the best English we have heard this holiday! Props to the couple :)

I hope you also have time to visit this little bar, the owners are such lovely people and draft beer breweries in Japan...

I would have sworn I had a review up for this place.

Been here numerous times. Enjoyed every time. The owner speaks English, but even if he didn't it would be well worth a visit. Nice interior, good foods (although most of them are a bit small to make a meal of, this is more of a pre or post meal location in my honest opinion).

Revolving selection of 8 to 10 beers on tap,mostly from around Japan but occasionally elsewhere. The nitro coffee with a dark beer is fantastic.
