Chago was absolutely wonderful. We had a great Kaiseki dinner experience and loved all the dishes - many of which we had never tried before. All the plates were not only tasty but also really pretty to look at. The place itself is also very pretty. The Google photos of the interior look a bit bland because you don’t really see the intricate details of the wallpaper that’s used. It’s much nicer in real life than in the pictures. All the tables have a very private setting with both Western and traditional Japanese seating available. They also had a nice selection of organic drinks, wines and craft beers which tasted great. There’s a bus stop right in front of the restaurant which connects to the city center in about 8 stops. We would absolutely recommend Chago for anyone vegan, vegetarian or simply looking for amazing Japanese food.

Amazing food, very friendly service, English speaking, highly recommend. The website says you need to make a reservation, however, it was no problem at all to get a table (Saturday night). This was so far my best dinner in Japan. Every little bowl of the menu was a delicious highlight. We felt so welcome and the dishes were also explained to us. Please go and support this great restaurant! <3

Vegetarian/vegan-friendly restaurant! Had the lunch set (which included their popular soy chicken nanban) and ordered bitter chocolate soy ice cream for dessert. The side dishes look small but, by the end of the meal, I was satisfied. Really good quality and quantity for the price. The restaurant’s atmosphere and interior feels a bit fancy too. Overall, a really good experience.
