HAPPY DONUT — Restaurant in Mobara

Arrived at 10am on Sunday to a line. Waited 40 minutes. Donuts were good overall, a few too many "mochi" options (prefer cake ones). Any mochi ones I ate on site were okay, but became a little flat by the time I finished my hour drive back. The atmosphere is very Americana and over the top. It feels like a road-trip stop for sure.

In typical fashion in Japan at popular bakeries, expect everyone in front of you to stack a tray of 20+ seemingly for everyone in their neighborhood. All the tacky signage and decor aside, the donuts themselves are: affordable, edible and Instagram-mable.

The prices are affordable and the house dog lazily is sat on the porch...'Marron' pays no mind, neither should you when grabbing an outdoor table.

Legit homemade donuts. Dunkin, Krispy, and Tim can’t hold a candle to the master bakers at work here. Great variety that appears to change daily, even hourly, although the selection is understandably limited at 10 a.m. I’m a fan of the old fashioned and the curry.
