This place is an institution. We have been coming here for about 10 years when we are in town and the consistency is fantastic. You know exactly what you are going to get, high quality, tender and crispy tonkatsu. This is our first time visiting the new restaurant, 2 doors down from the old one. It makes sense that they expanded as it is so popular but although clean and with lost of light it has lost a bit of it's old 雰囲気. The soy sauce ramen is also good. Old school Showa Style kitakata ramen, light and tasty. Noodles have good bite and the charsiu is tasty and tender. The tonkatsu is the star though. The pictures show the hire katsudon and the aimori don which is 2 pieces of ro-su (loin) and 1 piece of hire (tenderloin fillet). The meat is extremely good quality and is very tender, retaining enough bite whole not being chewy, it also doesn't have the strong pork flavour of other tonkatsu restaurants. The tonkatsu is dipped in the sauce before serving and it is the perfect foil the the crispy exterior as it cuts through some of the fattiness but doesn't overpower the dish. The rice is very well cooked and is never wet or overcooked. I just wish there was a bigger bed of cabbage for the tonkatsu. If chicken rice hawker stores in Singapore have been given a Michelin star for consistent high quality food I see no reason why Kashiwaya Shokudo doesn't deserve one either. Consistent high quality food that will leave you full and happy. Keep up the excellent work!

福島県本宮市にある老舗食堂こちらの名物が 大きく分厚い『上名代ソースかつ丼』✨

前に一度食べた事があり その時はトンカツにたっぷりのソースが絡み ご飯にもたっぷりソースがかかって居て ソースまみれ丼・・・しょっぱくて食べれず 半分残してしまいました⤵️

でも分厚いトンカツはサクサクでジューシー とっても美味しかったので ソース少なめでリベンジしに訪問❗(ง •̀ω•́)ง

リベンジせず他店で食べたらええんちゃう？ そう思ったあなた‼️ 私も福島県来るまでは、そうしてました

簡単に説明すると福島県の 飲食店舗数は東京の1/10以下、なのに 県面積は東京の３倍以上広い、その為 気軽に食べに行ける範囲にある飲食店舗は 単純計算で東京の1/30になるのだ‼️ (体感的には1/100くらい)
