I would like to take the time to give an excellent review for El Cielo! I reached out to the owner about a month ago to help plan a special catering event, an hour and a half north of their restaurant. He was willing to work with the budget and also offer delivery through the mountains of Yanbaru to make the day special for my husband‘s 50th birthday. Upon arrival we were amazed at how prepared the delivery drivers came to set up. They brought chafing dishes, burners, serving utensils, over 330 homemade tortillas (made that morning), Carne Asada, Al Pastore, and Carnitas. In addition, there were four large bottles filled with a variety of freshly made salsas. There were so much food that everybody was able to enjoy seconds and everyone kept asking more about the restaurant. The food was delicious, it was warm and you could tell it was made from the heart. It’s hard to believe that ALL of that food and hand made tortillas were made fresh for the day!! Later that day, when we returned the dishes, we decided to also eat at the restaurant and were again pleasantly surprised at how delicious and homemade the food tasted! This is an amazing place and the staff is wonderful. I highly recommend working with this restaurant for any of your catering needs or just stop by the restaurant for one of the best tacos in Okinawa! Thank you for making the day a success and being so responsive during the planning of the event. We’ll be sure to visit again!

We are Aussie travellers who are well versed in quality Mexican food and were pleasantly surprised to find great quality and authentic Mexican fare. We ordered the tacos, nachos, quesabirria and a paloma cocktail. They were so good we went back for a second round! The meal left us talking about it all the way back to the hotel. It was definitely a destination dinner and off the beaten path but an amazing vibe overall. Strong recommend for those who value authentic Mexican.

Tortillas freshly pressed and cooked, I mean c’mmonnnn
absolutely delicious, staff is great and outgoing. The atmosphere is solid, a place to be with a group of friends and enjoy some delicious food. Authentic and organic , lt doesn't get any better than this especially in Okinawa. Thank you, for the appreciation and representation of the culture. Located right around the corner from base is another reason its The Place To Be. 10/10.

We were hiking in the area and tired to go somewhere else but were drawn to the Mexican flag on the side of the road. It didn’t disappoint! Refreshingly authentic Mexican food. The menu is kind of limited but what they do sell is the best of its kind. We had the carne asada burrito, asada quesadilla, and chips and salsa. The chips were fried themselves and you could just tell everything was made from scratch. Definitely check this out if your in the...
