Henpi Cafe — Restaurant in Nago

A small yet cozy and peaceful cafe tucked in the forests of Nago, that offers a variety of delicious foods and drinks! My partner and I visited for what supposedly a short breakfast (we ordered the omelette sandwich, sukiyaki beef sandwich, matcha latte and cafe latte) but stayed much longer after meeting Chicho, Sugioka-san’s (owner) cat 🐱. We also ordered delicious dessert (burnt cheesecake and strawberry matcha) as precious Chicho slept in my lap, purring 🥹. Sugioka-san was also very pleasant and shared the story about her cafe and Chicho with us. Certainly a memorable experience that made it difficult to leave.

This small cafe on a quiet street in Okinawa was one of the highlights of our trip. When you walk in you are greeted by one of the owners with a glass of water and immediately feel at home with the rustic decor and cozy couches. The two ladies there spoke perfect English and served us with a smile. We got the iced brown sugar latte and iced oat milk latte. Both were phenomenal but the true star of the show was the sandwich we ordered. It was so flavorful and filled with steak, onions and delicious cheese and grilled to perfection. Such a cute cafe run from a house with a very homely vibe. A lovely lady and her beautiful cats run the cafe. Very homely, clean and warm vibe with nice music on creating great ambience. We got the coffee, strawberry matcha latte, omelette toast and avocado toast. It was all really lovely. Food was freshly cooked with love. The strawberry matcha was delicious.
