Saizeriya — Restaurant in Nagoya

9 months before, I would have given 4 stars, because it delivered good food for the price (considering it's a cheap fast food restaurant).

I used to come regularly (2 to 3 times per week) and enjoyed the meals. But recently, I feel that they lowered the quality to maintain the prices. I understand the strategy, but I don't think it's a good one when there is a convenient store in the same building that is now delivering the same quality...

Carbonara pasta : it used to be nicely flavoured with pepper and parmesan cheese that complimented each other. Now it's a big scoop of American macaroni cheese, which is tasteless.

Pizza : they downsized them and they now look like toy pizza, directly taken out of the fridge and put in the oven. Flat.

Salads have been downsized too.

Bread : they removed the baguettes and put smaller focaccia bread instead. Still good though.

Minestrone : still the same as before. It's alright, even though it's not fresh vegetables. It's the only thing that didn't change in 9 months.

Chocolate cake : looks darker but they removed the chocolate and just added more colouring, because they have no taste anymore. It was my special treat to myself but it lost all interest. (!) They changed it again and added cocoa powder on top (to add taste ?). I think the balance of taste is disrupted. The cake is still lacking in chocolate taste, but the powder adds a lot of bitterness to it. I still prefer the previous version from a few months ago. I would recommend to mix the cocoa inside the cake, not on top of it.

I'm sad of what this restaurant has become, because I used to really enjoy my time here. The waiters are polite and smiling. Service is fast. The variety of choice is ok. But I'd rather pay more than loose the taste of...

It's a really good restuarant for dinner. Relatively cheaper than most of the nearby places. For a good meal it will cost around 1200 per person. They also provide unlimited soft drinks/tea for 200 JPY. Place is clean and neat. Service is efficient. Sometimes on busy days, there is a queue. We had to stay 10-15 minutes to...

Perfectly good place to have a budget meal. Quality of the food is great as well, and it's not really crowded at all times. However, there's lots of students camping and studying while eating their dinner (but they aren't a nuisance so not to worry about...
