My wife and I, after our first night stay at Hotel JAL City Naha, booked a taxi to Meguro miso soup stand for breakfast. The ride cost us 600 Yen, although we still had our rented car, since we were uncertain whether there is any parking around the shop and to avoid any parking offence. We found later there is, but parking remains a challenge. In our inaugural visit in the early morning, there were no customers around when we arrived and there were only two tables in the shop, due to the tight space. If the two tables are occupied, customers can sit and eat outside on the side of stand. We struggled to communicate and place the order with the one-man owner and chef. We finally managed to order two sets of meal with the help of the next customer, who could speak English and Japanese and was a blessing. We ordered the tofu and miso soup sets that came with two different types of bread and different flavoured miso soup, which we took both, and later further ordered the fried fish set with a strong flavour miso soup and salty bread. At that point of time, there was already a queue formed, waiting to sit and for take away. The bread and soup were nice, tasty and well flavoured, and did not disappoint. We could not recall the exact amount of the bill for the two of us, as the bill was not given to us and we forgot to ask, which was paid in cash. We also managed to catch a taxi just off the lane after a short walk to the main road. The ride also cost us 600 Yen to the hotel. A shop not to be missed when in Naha City to experience the bread and miso soup, which was the reason why we choose to skip the buffet breakfast...
Read moreMy husband and I had the tofu don set and a cup of flat white each. The tofu don was filling and healthy. What was best was the flat white coffee. I am prone to getting palpitation whenever I drink coffee but I did not get it that day! Furthermore, I didn’t get a caffeine crash. Feeling good after that cup of flat white. So impressed by...
Read moreMy first time here. Parking was difficult to find, so I picked a nearby coin parking, but there are actually 4 free parking spots opposite the cafe next door.
Menu has changed since it was last posted here by the owner. Fish was not available, so I ordered tofu don with kachuyu. Tofu don was delicious, miso was ok. Long waiting time. A bit pricey for what it is, but it was an interesting experience! I enjoyed watching the employee making the soup in...
