Natural Food & Drink nico-simply — Restaurant in Nakano

A large notice board outside the shop saying drinks are compulsory, needs to be put to deter customers who do not wish to be forced to order stuff they do not want to have. There should be a law against these types of business practices. It's not as if each item on the menu is really cheap as well.

I did not want to have the drink, but you're supposed to either get the "set(which includes a drink)" or, order a drink separately. I'm surprised at the large number of highly rated reviews, hopefully the food is great.

Additionally, the note "order a drink if not ordering a set" is not written on the Japanese menu, but only on the English menu, giving a feeling of unfairness. So minus 2 stars.

Additionally, after my friend ordered rice, at 1800, seconds after opening the restaurant, the staff came back after a few minutes saying that there is no rice and my friend had to change to pasta. So minus 1 star.

Additionally, payments are accepted only in cash! At this age, and receipts are not handled professionally giving an impression that the shop is trying to evade taxation.

The fact that payments aren't accepted in cash wasn't clearly stated on entry into the restaurant as well. People don't carry wads of cash these days. So minus 1 star.

Food update: The anchovy pasta was watery and there was no anchovy flavour. There were two tiny pieces of Mushroom on it, and a liter of water..

The Bolognese pasta was disappointing too. The meat was not deeply cooked and the sauce did not habe the consistency it needs to cling well to the pasta, the tomatoes in it were almost raw.

Then there was the overly sweet cranberry juice, and the dilute ginger ale with tiny raw ginger blocks going and hardly any spice.

And finally a pizza with a base made with some dark dough, that was......

So good! We got the set dinner menu for 2 people. It came with two drinks, a large salad, a pasta, and a pizza. We could choose any options on their menu.
